The ECOLOOP project recently reached a significant milestone as it convened its 2nd plenary meeting in Ljubljana, Slovenia. This gathering brought together project partners from various backgrounds and expertise to delve into foundational aspects and chart the course for the project’s next steps.
The primary focus of the meeting was to deliberate on technical specifications and design solutions crucial for the project’s success. With collaboration at the forefront, partners engaged in productive discussions aimed at synchronising efforts and ensuring progress across all involved parties.
In addition to the meeting sessions, partners had the opportunity to visit the Slovenian pilot site located at Biomasa in Nazarje. Here, they witnessed firsthand the transformation of wood waste, sourced from logging industries like sawmills, into biomass utilised for energy and heat generation through advanced boiler systems. This demonstration epitomises a sustainable approach to wood waste management, aligning perfectly with ECOLOOP’s overarching objectives of promoting renewable energy and efficient resource utilisation.
The pilot site visit provided partners with invaluable insights into the practical application of project solutions. By observing real-world implementations, discussions were enriched, allowing for a deeper understanding of ECOLOOP’s potential impact in the field. This hands-on experience not only reinforces stakeholders’ commitment but also serves as a catalyst for refining strategies and ensuring the project’s continued effective advancement toward its goals.
